HOW IT WORKS:
1. Email for a 2023-2024 rate card: [email protected] 2. Fill out form to be considered and select what you would like to hire Joseph for. You will receive specific instructions in regards to the services you are requesting. We usually respond within 24 - 48 hours. EXAMPLE FOR BASS RECORDING:
1. Joseph approves the session and the Artist/Producer emails or WeTransfers an MP3 reference mix. 2. JPM will import reference track into his DAW (digital audio workstation). 3. JPM will record his bass part and email MP3 of new track to artist/producer for approval. If revisions are requested, another pass is recorded. 4. A full bandwidth audio file (24 bit, 192/96/44.1, wav/aiff file) will be uploaded to artist/producer who then imports into his/her master sequencer recording program. 5. You pay via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle or Cash APP |
About the Studio & Gear Used
Control Room:
The control room is adjacent to the Live Loft. The main audio interface is an Universal Audio Apollo 8 (recording using Thunderbolt 3) into a 27 inch iMac. Typically JPM uses the Brent Avril 1272 Module Mic Preamp and/or DI (pictured above in #2 in rack). For monitoring, JPM uses Adam A7x powered monitors, 12" Cerwin Vega (for bass response) on controlled PrimeAcoustic floor panels below/behind control surface (not pictured) and a Bose stereo for fine tuning. Additionally there is enough room to record and capture using video camera's or correspond with Skype (iPad or iMac) for a more interactive recording/documenting experience.

Aguilar DB751 (which can also be used as DI) into 1x15 and 1x12. Either cabinets or combo of both cabinets can have a microphone. |
Ableton Live Rig:
Laptop running Ableton Live which is controlled with a midi foot pedal, running into an aguilar 2x10 to hear the audio from the laptop. The audio is also running through a Saphire Focusrite which is recorded L/R in stereo. Typically this rig is used in a live "solo bass" context only. |

JPM uses Logic Pro and Ableton Live to record. JPM also has a REDDI and a modified Brick DI upon request. Additionally, JPM has a True Bypass Pedal Board with Octaver, Distortion and Delays utilizing Analysis-Plus Cables. JPM is able to provide effects upon request but typically only uses the pedal board in a live application.
