JPM scored the music for this amazing documentary film titled, “Path To Geshe“. This indie film by Bill Judge is NOW AVAILABLE for purchase or download.

Geshe is a Tibetan word meaning ‘virtuous friend’. Geshe is also the title earned by one who has completed the roughly 20-year course of study at Sera-Jey Monastic University. Filmed at Sera Jey in South India, “Path to Geshe” immerses you in the color-rich world of a Tibetan monastery, a world of unexpected laughter and joyous effort set against the rigors of monastic study and intense dedication to the Buddha Dharma.
“Although the bulk “Path to Geshe” was shot over two trips to Sera in south India beginning in 2008 my personal journey to this wondrous place began with my first visit in 1993. Each visit since then has been like a home coming for a long lost brother. Living with the monks of Sera, who have become family to me, has been an amazing experience, I am honored to share the story of life at this amazing place with you.” – William Judge
Joseph Patrick Moore recently completed scoring the music for the documentary movie by William Judge titled, “The Path To Geshe”. This documentary movie is scheduled for release within the next 60 days and more info will be posted as it gets closer to the release date: Dark Hollow Films
Additionally, JPM is working out the details of releasing the music from the movie as an audio CD. More info on this release, posted very soon – stay tuned…

Re: Earl Klugh at Eric Clapton‘s Crossroads Guitar Festival
Just finished performing with Earl Klugh at The Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. It was a total blast! Thanks to Earl Klugh for inviting me to perform with him and to Eric Clapton and The Crossroads Organization for having the vision of having a master jazz guitarist such as Earl to be apart of this year’s 2010 concert. Not enough words can express how appreciative and honored it was to be apart of such an event. I heard, witnessed and met so many incredible artists, that I’m still trying to absorb the experience. A few of these moments were captured with pictures and I’m attaching a few of them here. Additionally, the concert will be available on DVD in the coming months.
It should be noted that the main focus of this event is to aid The Crossroads Centre Antigua. Crossroads Centre is a non-profit, International Centre of Excellence for the treatment of alcohol and other drug addictions. Residential treatment provides a unique opportunity for individuals suffering from alcohol and drug addiction to immerse themselves in an intensive therapeutic and supportive environment. Away from the daily distractions of everyday life, the physical environment is one of peace and tranquility which offers clients a safe place to begin the process of recovery. In addition to alcohol and drug rehabilitation program, services include: intervention referrals, aftercare planning transitional living residences, and an integrated family program. Recently I played a short European tour with Austin, Texas based guitarist, Chris Duarte. Most of the shows went well and the people were very responsive to Chris Duarte’s music as well as the vibe that Jeff Reilly (drums) and I were laying down. Traveling throughout the Czech Republic & Italy, we had an enormous amount of down time. I have to admit, I played the part of a Western “tourist” pretty well. My digital camera was rolling and I captured many of the sights that we visited.
Additionally, some of the tour was captured on video. Below are the links that have posted on YouTube.com. There are 2 concert video clips and 1 “Rockumentary” of sorts. Hope you enjoy!
Listen closely and you will hear clips of JPM’s music in the new documentary “Starbucking”. Discover the unlikely motivation behind his seemingly pointless and impossible mission. Ride along with Winter on a journey that has led him to nearly every U.S. state and several foreign countries in search of new Starbucks. See hilarious encounters with the people he meets along the way.

Joseph Patrick Moore is an accomplished bassist and composer and “Live in 05” recorded at “This House Rocks” in Atlanta, GA is a sensational Jazz album. I love the bass and percussion and felt the album, as a whole, had such a distinctive voice.
“SoulCloud” and “Mystery” have such a cool vibe going on. “Prayer of Solitude” darn this track was way too short; it was so awesome! “Datz It” (version 2005) ended the CD in style. “Live in 05” by Joseph Patrick Moore is a fine Jazz album that I really connected with.

On the jazz side of the street, three promising students were recently named winners of $1,000 awards from the Milt J. Hinton Scholarship fund: Joe Martin, Joseph Moore, and Nathan Peck. Martin is a student at William Paterson College; Moore is hittin the books at Memphis State University; and Peck, a 16-year old from West Virginia, is planning to pursue private instruction. The judges were Milt Hinton himself (of course) and noted jazz bassists Jay Leonhart and Charnett Moffett. The winners were chosen on the basis of their performances, their background, and an assessement of the potential benefits of private instruction in furthering their musical development.
