Geshe is a Tibetan word meaning ‘virtuous friend’.  Geshe is also the title earned by one who has completed the roughly 20-year course of study at Sera-Jey Monastic University. Filmed at Sera Jey in South India, “Path to Geshe” immerses you in the color-rich world of a Tibetan monastery, a world of unexpected laughter and joyous effort set against the rigors of monastic study and intense dedication to the Buddha Dharma.

“Although the bulk “Path to Geshe” was shot over two trips to Sera in south India beginning in 2008 my personal journey to this wondrous place began with my first visit in 1993.  Each visit since then has been like a home coming for a long lost brother. Joseph Patrick Moore recently completed scoring the music for the documentary movie by William Judge titled, “The Path To Geshe”.  This documentary movie is scheduled for release within the next 60 days and more info will be posted as it gets closer to the release date:  Dark Hollow Films

Re: Earl Klugh at Eric Clapton‘s Crossroads Guitar Festival

Just finished performing with Earl Klugh at The Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. It was a total blast! Thanks to Earl Klugh for inviting me to perform with him and to Eric Clapton and The Crossroads Organization for having the vision of having a master jazz guitarist such as Earl to be apart of this year’s 2010 concert. Not enough words can express how appreciative and honored it was to be apart of such an event. I heard, witnessed and met so many incredible artists, that I’m still trying to absorb the experience. A few of these moments were captured with pictures and I’m attaching a few of them here. Additionally, the concert will be available on DVD in the coming months.

It should be noted that the main focus of this event is to aid The Crossroads Centre Antigua. Crossroads Centre is a non-profit, International Centre of Excellence for the treatment of alcohol and other drug addictions. Residential treatment provides a unique opportunity for individuals suffering from alcohol and drug addiction to immerse themselves in an intensive therapeutic and supportive environment. Away from the daily distractions of everyday life, the physical environment is one of peace and tranquility which offers clients a safe place to begin the process of recovery. In addition to alcohol and drug rehabilitation program, services include: intervention referrals, aftercare planning transitional living residences, and an integrated family program. Recently I played a short European tour with Austin, Texas based guitarist, Chris Duarte. Most of the shows went well and the people were very responsive to Chris Duarte’s music as well as the vibe that Jeff Reilly (drums) and I were laying down. Traveling throughout the Czech Republic & Italy, we had an enormous amount of down time. I have to admit, I played the part of a Western “tourist” pretty well. My digital camera was rolling and I captured many of the sights that we visited.
